Publishing Standards

Crochet Sprig is a home for credited crochet patterns and simple tools. Clear instructions and respect for designers shape what we publish.

Original work and permission

We publish original material or material with permission that covers the intended use. A freely available PDF is not automatically free to rebrand, adapt, or republish. When we feature another designer’s work, we identify its source and follow the permission granted. We do not present another designer’s pattern as our own.

Source review and pattern testing

Before preparing a pattern for publication, we read its complete source and check the materials, terminology, row or round sequence, and finishing instructions against it. We preserve the designer’s technical steps and flag unclear details instead of adding unverified instructions. Source review is separate from making a sample: we describe a pattern as tested only when it has actually been crocheted and checked.

Tools and assisted drafting

Software and AI tools may help organize drafts or prepare visual material. They do not establish pattern rights or replace a crochet editor’s review. AI-generated concept images are labeled as inspiration, not photographs of a tested sample or proof that a pattern produces the pictured result.

Corrections and disclosures

Use our Contact page to flag an unclear step, incorrect stitch count, attribution issue, or permission concern. Include the page link and enough detail to locate the issue. If a future post contains affiliate links or sponsored material, that relationship should be clearly disclosed on the post.
